4/23/26 at Mini Mart
i really like Them Airs, and my camera doesn't work very well with the light level they have at Mini Mart. partially filmed by Rowan.
2025
12/29/25 and 12/30/25 at PhilaMOCA
these were all recorded at the Naked Lightbulb birthday shows at PhilaMOCA. details of note across them: Luke borrowing my camera during the Carpet Floor set and later having a conversation with me between songs about wanting to fix it, for some reason. Griff of Lahnah using the phrase "another night in the big city" repeatedly. me wondering aloud how the sound was being picked up during the Artax set and Dorthia responding "fucking phenomenal".

every Scrimblo set makes me feel like my head is gonna explode, obviously this is a good thing. shout out to Kate for filming like 8 minutes of this so i could take still photos. if you look closely at points you can see me feeling like my head is gonna explode.
11/1/25 at The Lovely Area
my first brush with Cowpokes mk3, in their oozy beautiful glory. i also filmed most of the Sallow Friend set from this evening, but the file seems to be corrupted.
9/13/25 at Dead Birds
Paul asked me to film part of the Molly_XLR set, and i did what i could, in spite of being fucking exhausted. crowd goes unreasonably crazy in this.
8/27/25 at Nikki Lopez
got asked last minute to video this, and i'm glad i did. The DOJD plays Head In The Ceiling Fan by Title Fight in the style of Ground-Zero. very much for me.
8/12/25 at The Silver Age HQ
Artax rendered blue as shit on a Tuesday(?).
7/27/25 at the Gray's Ferry Warehouse
the extremely rare occurance of a watercopyy promoted show, this one taking place in an extremely warm room in the Gray's Warehouse.
7/19/25 at the Ukrainian Club
day two of Julia's War Fest at the Ukie Club. first appearance of whatever iteration of Ruth in the Bardo this is. i also filmed the Fib set from the same day and never got around to uploading it, i should do that.
7/5/25 at The Silver Age HQ
one off occurance for the release of the NOBODY ELSE IS GONNA GET YOU WHAT YOU WANT split EP. a live improvisation from members of both bands.

Small Head Big Torso Vicious Grip
7/3/25
one of the less conceptually involved DOJD sets i've seen, but a good one nonetheless.
7/1/25
my camera died 2/3rds of the way through the Main Era set, missing Double Dragon entirely. i also videoed the Wiring set the same night and never got around to uploading it.
6/27/25 at Over Yonder
my meager contribution to documenting the end of Over Yonder. rest in peace to maybe the nicest basement venue i've ever seen.

first off, this video is incoherent. turns out there's a limit to how dark a room this camera works with and i probably made it worse trying to correct it in post. with that said, holy fucking shit what a set. after spending the better part of two years anticipating this, matched my hightened expectations. shout out to instagram user meatcastle on additional vocals for hightening the entire experience. Shenanigans in particular made me feel like i was sprouting wings with them screaming the Kim Gordon sample. probably one of the 5 best sets i've ever seen, even if you can't really.
6/8/25 at Studio 34
oldest footage i've uploaded using this video camera, i don't know why i decided such a visually uncommon band would be a good test run. audio is also a little weird but whatever.
1/24/25 at Our House
the tail end of the "filming loose songs on my phone because my nice camera has a dead battery" era.
1/11/25
extremely photogenic offering from the Artaxes, thanks to Over Yonder's unreasonable lights rig.

11/29/24 at Cousin Danny's
the final night of the original Maax Power & The Children of God run. at this point the band consisted of: Paul Normal on drums, Dr. Computer on bass, Anton Vunderkind on keys, The Skull and The Helmet on guitars, and Maax Power and Maax Power on dual lead vocals. i miss them dearly. also the only show where i ever brought out my old 2ds, which is why the video and audio quality is completely dogshit.

attempting to get across the live drum solo intro to Every Apple.

unseasonably nice day in November, not sure why New Favorite Beat is upside down.
11/3/24 at Launderette Records
what can one say about Grocer, truly. i mean probably a lot, honestly.
10/26/24 at Haus of Yarga
i could write thousands of words and not convey the specific vibe of the final Haus of Yarga show. the hundreds of people sardined into a building deemed "uninhabitable", the three distinct floors of music happening, the person doing tattoos on the top floor. until i write on it further, enjoy what Giant sets were like in 2024.
8/16/24 at Cousin Danny's
more Giant, i don't know why i didn't video a full set of theirs back when they were bringing extra drums for Bobby and Fred to play.
7/5/24 at the Kitchenette
the first MP/COG set in like 6 months with Paul as Maax Power, in addition to Alli. an incredibly beautiful and life affirming experience for like 5 people, four of whom were in the band.
Maax Power & The Children of God
5/10/24 at Over Yonder
the infamous tattoo set. also the final set i filmed on my Nikon D3300.
Small Head Big Torso Vicious Grip
3/28/24 at Haus of Yarga
inscrutable side project of Fib, nice combo of instrumental post punky tunes and incomprehensible bits, assisted by Ben from Mormon Toasterhead. i'm constantly thinking about that guy in the ski mask saying "if you like this music, you can listen to it".
3/22/24 at Haus of Yarga
Small Head in their profoundly inconvenient era. i get why they don't feel like setting up tapestries and turning the drumkit fully around all the time, but it is fucking sick.

2/16/24 at the Ukrainian Club
last VCMC set before they imploded, taking advantage of the space. its kinda tragic, honestly, i feel they could have gone places. i recorded their set and uploaded it to the Internet Archive, though i couldn't figure out how to get the tracks in order.
2/1/24 at MOMA 2
one of those sets i filmed because i wanted to hear unreleased material. in hindsight respectable they just played their EP front to back.
2023
11/17/23 at Philly Style Pizza
a farewell show for Grace "The Cornerstone" Allen before she moved away. she has since returned to Philly. i also have the second set somewhere, maybe i'll get around to uploading it.
10/10/23 at the DuBois Robeson People's Center
the golden age of people booking at the DRPC. not sure what's up with Cyd's vest.
9/17/23 at Haus of Yarga
it took me entirely too long to actually see VCMC live, it was only at this set that i really got that they were doing something special. maybe some of my best videography.
8/31/23 in a train tunnel in Bushwick
me, Rowan, and someone named Fi who i never really talked to much made a day trip out of going to Bushwick to see this bill. Chanel Beads opened, and the cops shut the whole thing down during the Godcaster set, hence why it awkwardly cuts into the middle of Gut Sink Moan. pretty good time.
7/14/23 at Eric's House
one of the top 3 sweatiest shows i've ever been to, hosted by a guy named Eric who i've kind of lost contact with. unfortunately you can tell everyone's kinda exhausted by it, but i still had a good time.
7/9/23 at the Ukrainian Club
what can you say about TAGABOW at Ukrainian Club. it is TAGABOW at Ukrainian Club.
they are gutting a body of water
6/16/23 at Legoland
Power Over Ethernet were an obsession of mine at the time, i think its unfortunate they haven't yet gotten any sort of nebulous diy scene notoriety. also a rare document of 2023 live band acid_freek, which kind of doesn't exist anymore. hopefully these songs get released someday because they were the secret best shoegaze band in philly for a minute.

one of my regrets as a videographer of bands is not ever filming another Maax Power & the Children of God set after this. the audio quality is lacking what with the wind you get being on a pier, and the performances are sloppy in an underpracticed way. a year later, when they were sloppy in a "we have been playing the same set forever and need to keep this fun for ourselves" way, i neglected to. also notable as a document of old, trio Pons.

this MENU set changed my life, i'm not exaggerating. Ian was running direct into this incredibly blasted Sovtek amp head getting the sharpest tone i've ever heard. if you've ever hung out with me in a context where i can show you youtube videos, i will show you this in an effort to explain my guitar damage. TAGABOW are also good.

on a vacation, we decided to see Open Head open for Godcaster. incredible set composed almost entirely of material from a second album they scrapped. unfortunate because it's really good.
3/10/23 at Philly Style Pizza
the old trio configuration of PLL, at some point i should film a set from the emo orchestra iteration we have currently.
2/3/23 at The Pouch
i've never seen anyone command the room quite like fib do in this video. kinda season finale type of evening.
1/28/23 at Beautiful World Syndicate
only time i've been at Beautiful World Syndicate, scarily packed evening.
1/13/23 at The Haven
this is still one of my favorite videos i've taken. the way they played Outro in late 2022/early 2023 felt revelatory when i wasn't trying to avoid getting hit in the shins with a Princeton Reverb.
